UPDATE: Russian security experts to arrive to Cairo airport on Tue

CAIRO, Sep 6 (PRIME) -- A group of Russian flight security experts will arrive to the airport of Cairo on Tuesday in the evening, an Egyptian source with knowledge of the situation told PRIME.

A spokesman for the Russian Transport Ministry confirmed the information, saying that the safety audit of the airport by the Russian expert team will last till Saturday.

Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said last week that the ministry received an official notification that Egypt had taken measures to ensure safety of the Cairo airport.

Moscow suspended flights to Egypt in November 2015 after a major Russian plane crash over the Sinai Peninsula. Russia believes that the plane was likely brought down by a bomb.
